Terms of Service
EdenStream (“the Service”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a digital media ecosystem built for the Adventist community — a sanctuary where creators build sustainable ministries. By accessing or using EdenStream at edenstreammedia.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who operates the Service
EdenStream Media (the “Operator”) operates the Service from Karoi, Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe. These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Where these Terms require you to contact us, use the Contact link on the site, or write to the Operator, EdenStream Media, Karoi, Zimbabwe.
2. The Service
The Service includes: browsing and watching content; the Content Registry (a searchable, license-verified index of Adventist media); the Marketplace (digital product sales); Partnership fan funding (voluntary monthly support of creators); the Upper Room (48-hour paid rentals and pay-per-view); Study Together rooms; and the Watercooler (creator collaboration listings).
3. Accounts and the Registry
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account or joining the waitlist.
- One account per person. Accounts may not be shared for the purpose of evading platform fees or identity requirements.
- The Registry identity fee (US$10–20 per year) verifies identity and faith alignment. It is a nominal gate against spam, trolls, and bot farms, and is non-refundable once a Registry listing is published.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Your content and conduct
- You retain ownership of the content you upload. You grant the Operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute your content solely to operate the Service.
- You must own, or be licensed for, everything you upload or sell. You may not upload infringing, unlawful, or deceptive content.
- You may not: spam, scrape, attempt to circumvent access controls or signed download links, impersonate others, or use the Service to distribute malware or conduct fraud.
- Content that is unlawful under Zimbabwean law, or that violates the copyright of others, will be removed (see our Copyright Policy).
5. Marketplace purchases
- All Marketplace prices are in US dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe; your payment data is handled under Stripe’s privacy policy.
- EdenStream charges a platform commission of 5–8% on digital product sales; the creator receives the remainder.
- Digital products are delivered by secure, signed download links valid for 7 days from purchase. You are responsible for saving your purchase within that period. Links are single-delivery: keep them private.
- Refunds. Because digital goods are delivered instantly, purchases are final once downloaded. If a file is defective or does not match its description, request a replacement or refund via the Contact link within 14 days of purchase.
- Purchases are paused from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday (the Sabbath hours). Checkout returns after the hours of rest.
6. Partnership fan funding
- Partnership is voluntary, recurring support you choose to give a creator (US$5 / $10 / $20 per month). EdenStream’s platform fee is 5–10%; the creator receives the rest.
- You may cancel or change a pledge at any time from your profile; changes apply from the next billing period.
- Pledges are support for ministry, not an investment and not a guarantee of specific content or benefits.
7. Upper Room rentals
Rentals grant 48 hours of access to the rented work. Rental access is personal: you may not share, re-encode, or redistribute rented content. Watermarked content remains the property of its creator.
8. Termination
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including repeat copyright infringement, fraud, or abuse of the platform.
- You may close your account at any time via the Contact link. Marketplace purchases and paid Registry fees already made are not refunded upon voluntary closure, except as provided in section 5.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for content provided by third-party creators.
- To the maximum extent permitted by Zimbabwean law, the Operator’s total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law of Zimbabwe.
10. Disputes
We will first try to resolve any dispute in good faith. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be governed by the laws of Zimbabwe and submitted to the courts of Zimbabwe sitting at Karoi.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, where practicable, announced on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
